As a wedding coach who works with planners, photographers, florists, and creatives across the wedding world, I hear this question constantly:
“Should I send a services brochure to couples before a discovery call?”
Short answer: Yes, but…
Do it strategically! Let’s break down what a brochure actually is, what it’s not, and how to use it to attract, not repel, your dream clients.
Think of your services brochure as your brand’s amuse bouche, not the whole meal.
A proper services brochure isn’t a full proposal or quote or pricing guide. Instead, it should be a high-level overview of:
The goal of your brochure isn’t to close the sale. It’s to build excitement and curiosity. This enables them to get pumped to show up to the discovery call and learn more.
Wanna know the sweet spot?! Right after they schedule a discovery call 🤯
This is where automation shines, and one of the very few times that I will ever say to auto-send something. This workflow can easily be setup in Calendly or you CRM calendar tool. With this workflow, you can automatically send an email with your services brochure after the couple books a discovery call.
Why this works:
PDFs are cute… until they’re floating around from 2015 with outdated pricing and branding 😱
As a wedding professional and business owner, you know how much the industry and economy fluctuates over the years. You back in 2015 is not the same wedding pro now. Your experience, knowledge, and business practices have enhanced. This means that your pricing, services, and client experience has increased and evolved. That’s why my advice, as a wedding coach, is the services brochure should always be a live link that way:
Live links can be done with Canva, Google Drive Link, Notion, or your preferred platform. This enables the link to be deactived at your leisure.
Here’s what many wedding pros get wrong when sending brochures:
This can lead to:
This is why strategy comes in clutch. It’s all about timing to ensure you are guiding the couple through the sales journey by being effortlessly authentic and true to your brand.
Yes, you should send a services brochure. BUT only if you treat it like a branded curated client experience, not a desperate sales pitch. When used correctly, your brochure becomes a powerful tool to warm up leads, tell your story, and build anticipation for your discovery call. Don’t let it be something that overwhelms or drives potential clients away.
